Br'er Cotton explores the dynamics of race in 2017 America. 17 year old Ruffrino is a revolutionary teen who has a fire to change the direction of the country. He finds solace with his online gaming friend, CagedBird99 within the video game Diaspora. The piece exposes, anger and frustration in a very poetic manner. Lighting supported this notion by transporting us from normal day to day life to the cotton fields of yesterday and into the video game world where Ruffrino escapes real life.
